The American Academy of Ophthalmology has agreed to provide a means for Academy members to earn CME credit for their educational efforts, utilizing a long-standing Academy program, the Contract Learning Project. It is essential that requests for Contract Learning Projects be received in advance of the Congress, no later than April 1, 2008. PUBLISHING
Each year the SFO publishes a scientific report (see the heading, Annual Reports) and articles in the Journal Français d'Ophtalmologie. Lectures presented during round table sessions at the Conference are published in the section entitled Formation Médicale Continue (Further Medical Training), and private papers are published in original form after acceptance by the editorial reading committee.
IMPORTANT : HOW DO YOU RECEIVE SFO PUBLICATIONS ?
There have been a certain number of complaints about receiving the JFO and, particularly, our bulky report, especially for those sent to other countries.
In view of these difficulties, and to make contact with our members easier, the Governing Board has taken the following measures.
PAYMENT OF MEMBERSHIP FEES BEFORE THE DEADLINE OF 1ST MARCH, WHICH IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED:
No break in subscription to the JFO, despatch of the report on publication, end of April/beginning of May, as for the JFO for new members;
PAYMENT DURING THE CONFERENCE, AND UP TO THE END OF JUNE:
Withdrawal of "rapid" despatch of the report, which until now has been sent during the summer, this holiday period being conducive to losses. The despatch of the report will be put back to September. Subscription to the JFO will be reinstated within 2 months after payment but it will still be possible to consult the journal on-line until April. IT IS POSSIBLE FOR FOREIGN SUBSCRIBERS TO RECEIVE THE REPORT PERSONALLY AT THE CONFERENCE, but only if they so wish and solely to those who actually pay there. This facility will not be available to members who have already paid previously (even only slightly earlier), as there is a risk that they may receive 2 reports.
WARNING:
This distribution will only begin on the Monday of the Conference. The dated receipt for SFO membership fees will be required, as well as a signature acknowledging receipt of the report.
PAYMENT OF MEMBERSHIP FEES AFTER THE SUMMER:
Despatch of the report at the beginning of December, in order to avoid despatch at the end of the year when there is a high volume of Christmas post.
AFTER 1ST DECEMBER:
Cross-over to the following year: the report for the year " N-1" will not be sent with the report for the year "N" until after payment of both membership fees.
