Publishing an annual scientific report is one of the oldest traditions of the Société Française d'Ophtalmologie. It is a collective work which represents the main publishing activity of the Association, adding to the original articles and reports published by the Journal Français d'Ophtalmolgie.The subjects of the reports are selected by the Governing Board and are chosen by a vote at the General Assembly at the Conference. They are entrusted to a coordinator five years in advance. In the year they are published they are presented during the conference within the framework of a symposium at a plenary meeting. The subject of the report determines the principal scientific theme of the conference each year.
